1) Child Protection Refresher Course

This refresher is a clear and informative course with information to help you stay up to date with current regulations. Easily accessible with a qualified trainer online via zoom, or attending your centre. 

Duration: Approx. 1.5 Hours

  • Mandatory Reporting and How to use the MRG

  • Legislation

  • Types of Abuse

  • Disclosures

  • Implementing discussions and experiences into your curriculum

 

The course is in-depth and interactive. Our trainer's will discuss real life case studies, use the Mandatory Reporting Guide, offer support and guidance, provide experiences you can implement daily to teach children about Child Protection and test your knowledge via an online quiz.

There are two options available, one for teams and one for individuals. 

2) Child Protection Unit - CHCPRT001

​

It is now advised to keep updated in your  knowledge and awareness about child protection in the Early Education sector. This course addresses how we can identify, document and report a suspected risk of harm to a child or young person. It will provide you with the opportunity to demonstrate the required knowledge and skills to address duty of care requirements as well as work within an ethical framework and apply relevant legislation and policies and procedures in responding to children and young people at risk. It is clear, informative and helps to keep you up to date with current regulations.

Statement of Attainment issued on completion.

Students will need to meet the following entry requirements prior to course commencement:                                                                                                                     â€‹

  • Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment before commencement of the course;

 

 Duration (either):
 

Approximately 7 Hours face-to-face: The majority of this unit  is completed face to face with the help and guidance of a qualified trainer. After the course you will need to complete the workplace task and supervisor report in an early childhood setting and one case study in your own time. This will be completed through a student portal so access to a laptop is required.


You have a further 3 months to finalise the unit.

A trainer and assessor from TrueLearning Australia will call your workplace to verify authenticity through verbal feedback from your supervisor. 

​

Online/ Distance: This unit can be completed over 6 months. All of your theory tasks will be completed online via a student portal so access to a laptop is required. You will need to complete the workplace task and supervisor report in an early childhood setting.

​

As this course is completed online, a trainer and assessor from TrueLearning Australia will call your workplace to verify authenticity through verbal feedback from your supervisor. You will also be required to upload the workplace child protection policy. 

​
