An Educator in a Early Education service, Out of School Hours and Vacation care service, or in a Family Day-care service. This Certificate can lead you to upgrade to a Diploma to further your job opportunities such as Room/Team leader, Supervisor or Centre Director.

The Certificate 3 and Diploma are highly regarded for Nanny positions in Europe and Australia as well.

Course Delivery Plan

We offer a weekly 3 hour online group for students to access their trainer directly for guidance, assignment clarification and support. The meetings are optional, but highly recommended during this course. They are from the convenience of your own home

Trainer Assessment visits to the student's workplace or work placement location

Self-paced learning is estimated at 6 hours per week for full-time students

Mandatory 120 hours on the job or work placement location recorded in a logbook

Participants will have access to a qualified supervisor and assessor
Course duration: 12 months full time (3 months free extension)

Course Description
​
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of Early Childhood Education and Care settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s well-being, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Course Selection Criteria
​
The structure of this course is adjustable and flexible to meet the needs of the student and employer.
Students will need to meet the following entry requirements prior to course commencement:

Students must provide a current Working with Children Check. Apply online: https://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au;

Must be the age of 16 or over and an Australian citizen or hold a permanent resident visa;

Provide a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier);
-
Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment before commencement of the course;
-
Traineeship: The student is required to be currently working, or commence permanent full-time or part-time employment in a regulated Early Childhood Setting to complete a Traineeship (conditions apply);
-
Self-funded: The student has no required employment conditions and may be in full-time, part-time, casual employment or work on a volunteer basis in an Early Childhood Setting and have an agreement with the service to complete their 120 hour compulsory work placement.
